May 14: Lewis Turco in-Person Featured Reader for the Powow River Poets

More information if/when I get it. The following is from a forwarded email...

The good news is that on Saturday May 14 the Powow River Poets are hosting one of this country's most prolific, imaginative, original poets, who is also the best prosodist anywhere: Lew Turco, author of the famous The Book of Forms, often referred to as "the poet's bible," as well as dozens of collections of poetry, essays, and prose on historic and literary subjects.

His reading takes place this coming Saturday at 3:00 p.m., at the Newburyport Public Library on State Street. The event is free and open to the public, and followed by an Open Mic and a book signing by the poet.

The bad news is that Lew Turco lives in Maine, has not read far from home for some time, and is reading for us because he has a soft spot for the Powows, despite the distance involved and the degree of frailty that goes with age.

I urge all of you who can make it to be present for what promises to be a memorable event!

The event will also be available via Zoom. The link will be emailed the day before the event.
