Jack Powers wrote about sports, and I love it. This January 14 Boston Ledger article is titled "Mickey Mouse at the Super Bowl." His opening sentence: "Super Bowl 11 was a lot like the Garden of Eden - the Snake won, and won Big.
Further down: "If the Patriots had managed to win it all, would Boston's unplowed streets and sidewalks be any easier to walk for little old ladies? Would the kids have any better time at school?"
Scores of Superbowls later, the Snake still wins. Home team wins, home team's home treats those who live there full time badly. Mickey Mouse and Tom Brady will live forever.
