Look What I Found

I was clearing out my iCloud and found this photo. According to Apple, I downloaded it on September 17 in 2017. So today is an anniversary. I'll celebrate it this once and never mention it again.

At the time this photo was taken, I was having at least twelve to fourteen hour days. I would wake up at four or five in the morning to help my girlfriend and her daughter get ready for school. I would also often go over to my girlfriend's school to help her carry in things and set up her room before rushing to work and taking care of up to thirty people.

I relied on fear and adrenaline to get through most work days. This one particular day, there was an afternoon meeting. I started to close my eyes.

The person who took the picture of me sleeping wasn't a co-worker. It was a supervisor. He chose to mock me rather than report me or ask if I was all right.

He thought it was so funny, he texted me the photo with the caption, "No need to MS Paint this one."

This was one of those managers who tries to feign niceness but ultimately has to remind you who the alpha is.

Eventually, he aggravated too many people. He got his comeuppance without me having to do anything.

Months--maybe weeks--after this photo was taken, he was let go.

Aside from an invitation to hook up via LinkedIn, I haven't heard from him since.

Hope the laugh he got at my expense was worth it.
