Editors and Journals I'm Grateful for in 2023: petro c.k. and dadakuku

My first submission to petro c.k.'s journal dadakuku was published in April.

It took a rewrite or two as I learned what Publisher petro c.k. wanted in his submissions.

I only thought I knew with my first submission.

Eight other published poems later, I finally think I have an idea.

Each poem written with dadakuku in mind was a challenge.

I toiled over the decision to send each one.

Many small poems I wrote this year never made the dadakuku cut.

Most of those rejected poems haven't seen the light of day anywhere else.

It seemed wrong to send them anywhere else.

petro c.k. helped me step my game up.

After 2020, a lot of online homes for my work dried up.

petro c.k. gave me a new home and made me work for it. I loved it.

The best poems I wrote this year would never have been attempted if not for him.

Best of all, he is promising a dadakuku anthology.

If any of my work this year is included, it will be my first proud moment for 2024.

 Thank you, petro c.k.
