The Larger Circle Band formed when members of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Medfield realized they shared a love of international folk music. Their leader, Fritz Fleischmann, is a violinist who has been in similar folk bands for dozens of years. Their name comes from the poem of the same name by Wendell Berry.

Joining the band is professional dance caller Jacob Bloom from Arlington. Bloom  gears dances to the audience in front of him--children, teens, or adults--whether they've years of experience or have never danced before. He loves to help beginners get to an 'aha' moment when they understand the patterns.
