March is Women's History Month

Thanks to the National Women's History Alliance (NWHA), U.S. presidents have issued annual proclamations designating the month of March as Women's History Month. This year's theme is "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations." The NWHA is known nationally as the only clearinghouse providing information and training in multicultural women’s history for educators, community organizations, and parents-for anyone wanting to expand their understanding of the historic contributions of women.

“A masterful job of educating and moving your audience on such an important topic – to get this story told and re-told, and to create triumphal new chapters in the future!"

There was a time when women couldn’t have jobs and had no voting rights. Women were property passed from father to husband. High-school student Melanie must learn how things changed. We Did It For You! is the story of how women got their rights in America, told by the women who were there. It is an entertaining and quick tour through the journey, starting with the struggle women had in the 17th century Puritan Revolution through to our 21st century empowered women politicians. After the screening, ask the filmmakers and actors questions and hear their stories. Check out the  trailer.

LGBTQ Senior Housing is graciously offering dinner to accompany the film. So please register so they have an accurate count for dinner.
