NaPoWriMo 2025 Afterthoughts

This year's National Poetry Writing Month stretch felt different.

I wish I didn't have to break the Emergency Haiku Glass as much as I did when I was on vacation, but overlooking that sad period, it wasn't too bad.

In fact, his is the first NaPoWriMo where I actually felt better about the work as I kept going.

For the first time in years,  I got out of the funk I usually get in when I'm writing the poems at the end of April.

Usually when I read over my poems at the end of April, I can't help but feel a little embarrassed.

No woe is me I can't hack it anymore poems to close out this month.

I got tired of my own self pity.

Took me long enough.

And for the first time in a long time, I'm actually looking forward to writing more poetry in May.

I hope some of my fellow participants felt a fraction of the same way I do right now.

Congratulations to all who participated, however far you got.
