This is the full front and back cover of Avenging World. Written and drawn by Steve Ditko and published by Bruce Hershenson. This image is iconic of Ditko. A city of progress against barbarian hordes. Now I look at it and wonder what happened for them to be against progress. Were there lands robbed of their own precious resources that were used to help build the city? Did they infringe on their lands to have it built? I hope to write more about Ditkos fabulously flawed vision after years of putting it off.
