The superhero fan who becomes a superhero was tried a few times in the eighties. Stan Lee's Solarman was one. So was Starman by Roger Stern and Tom Lyle to a lesser extent. The best regarded run might be mark Gruenwald's Quasar run. Who better to tell that story than a fan artist who made it to one of the top spots in comics?
