SAFE DISTANCE EDITION - Stone Soup Croutons, 5-12-21: Crash Course

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions picked from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

I also have an award nominated book out now collecting the best of my first year of poems. Click here to purchase it.

John Landry gave the best kind of Stone Soup feature I could have asked for in these times. Full of tributes to Stone Soup's past, figures including Arlene Stone, Charles Shively, John Wieners and, of course, Jack Powers. I broke the poem into two parts. Part one represents more the open mic. Part two represents John's feature segment.

And now I'm tired. I'm taking next week off, but I have one more poem to post (much later). Thanks for reading.

Tomorrow!

John Landry continues Stone Soup's 50th anniversary celebration.

May 12: John Landry Makes His Way Back to Stone Soup

John Landry (seen here with Arlene Stone) is someone who has a lot of history with Stone Soup poetry. John has not been able to visit the venue for years since moving out west. Given this past year of remote reunions, it would be a shame to not include him in our 50th anniversary celebration. John will be joining us on May 12 to share his poetry along with his vast knowledge of yesteryear's Stone Soup.

Join us this Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM ET by clicking this link.

The meeting ID is 898 0112 6082
