Stone Soup Croutons, 5-22-24: Second-to-Last Ride

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions selected from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

Trust Me, We're Waving

Technical difficulties galore! The Facebook feed stopped recording before the end of the open mic, and no matter what I switched it to, the video is stuck in speaker mode (which means you see a lot of my stupid face). But we have video of Elizabeth Doran's reading, which will be posted soon., Thank you, Elizabeth for a wonderful performance! Thanks also to everyone who attended. We'll see you  next week as Valerie Loveland concludes our fifty-third anniversary month celebration.

Elizabeth Doran featured multiple times during the early tenure of my days hosting and organizing Stone soup Poetry. I wanted her back multiple times, especially around may or September (Jack Powers' birthday), but I wasn't able to get my act together to ask. I'm glad to have finally gotten her back for Stone Soup's fifty-third anniversary month. Lots has happened since her last feature in 2011. I'm sure she'll tell you all about it.
