More Madonna, which I realized is actually a good choice for Pride Month.
Wanted to feature a musical talent who is still alive in case something happens this year. I might do more of this in the future. Though I own no albums of Madonna, she is one of the artists who has been a fixture in my life. It shocked my family how many of her songs I know by title and can almost list alphabetically. And so, a selection of Madonna this week because this decade seems determined to take away everything I like.
Nice to have new music by Death Cab for Cutie. Enjoy new music this weekend.
Not sure what to do this week. I'll see how many older music artists have3 new songs out. Today it's Billy Idol with Alison Mosshart.
Turns out I am a Cracker fan? I kept thinking about this song with the lyric "What the world needs now is another folk singer like I need a hole in my head." I had no idea that was made by Cracker! Consider me corrected. Go, Cracker. That's two songs that have stuck in my head forever. But why isn't this song played at least as much as "Low" is?
Haven't heard this on the radio since my twenties. Never been a huge fan of Cracker, but I like this better than "Low."
More Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock from back in the day. This was a popular song during aerobic classes in college. Yes, I took aerobics. A dorm mate liked a girl that went and wanted backup, and I needed the exercise.
Rob Base passed away. DJ EZ Rock passed away twelve years ago. This week's selection of music will honor the recently deceased, starting with Base and Rock's pinnacle hit.
I could have gone for funny, but my Dad's birthday is coming up, and I remembered this cover song by Muhammad Ali on an album put out when he was still Cassius Clay. I got the CD version for my father when he was still alive.
The soundtrack would've hit different is all I'm saying.
Bruce Willis put out music, made a cringy video and even had a concert on HBO.
The last of the new music for this week. Nice to know some older rockers can be relied on to show their faces in a video and prove they are not AI. Enjoy the weekend.
Still not sure if certain songs are AI or not. Relatively sure this isn't but I make mistakes sometimes. Bear with me.
Let's take this week to listen to new music and pretend I'm young. This is getting harder to do given that AI generated music is showing up on my front page. Some of it was mildly amusing "discovered classics" from the fifties, but now people are being quieter about the AI BS and I have to do some digging. At least this one is real.
Kind of embarrassing to find out Sevendust came out with new music only to realize I never got into Sevendust as a band. Might as well start now.
I'll be older soon. So let's look at some older bands that have new music. Let's start with the Butthole Surfers.
Surprised I haven't featured Charles Bukowski. One more focus on spoken word for National Poetry Month.
