I've been sitting with the music of this album and only now finished listening to it. After hearing this song and seeing the video, I'm pretty sure I'm going to try and write about this album.

My Friday Morning Music

"Song of the Future" is a funny title coming from what's now a classic rock act. But it is in fact a song for the late Iranian activist Sarina Esmalizadeh. I don't know if U2 was expecting things to escalate the way they did in Iran when this album was released.

U2 put out an album recently. The song that kicks it off is a protest song on behalf of my country. I hate to say that the song is way too optimistic, released just before Trump found a new way to turn this country into shit. I'll let you know about the rest of the album later.

U2 and Allen Ginsberg? I heard this yesterday on the U2 ,SiriusXM station, and now I want to hear more Gomsberg set to music.

Your Weekly Dose of God

U2 came out with a song in response to John Lennon's "God." Thought it was kind of pretentious to do that. Most interesting part is that there are lyrics attacking a writer of  Lennon's biography. But would even remember the guy who wrote Lenon's biography if not for this song?

I first heard "God" by John Lennon as part of a Beatles documentary (playing during a montage of their breaking up, if memory recalls).



Whatever you feel about the song, there's one thing we can agree on, whatever our religous divide:

"God, Part 2" by U2 is way worse.
