A Moment of Comics

Remember when it was crazy to have a sitting US resident tell us all to go to hell? I think of the page more often in recent months. From DMZ #11 written by Brian Wood with art by Kristian Donaldson. I think of this series more often now too.

A Moment of Comics After Election Day

I've been waiting to post this page. Didn't know how appropriate it would be. One more from the "Year of the Bastard" storyline in Transmetropolitan #14, written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Darick Robertson with inks by Rodney Ramos,

A Moment of Comics Counting Down to November

This will be me in front of any computer all the way up to Election Day. One of my favorite pages from the "Year of the Bastard" storyline in Transmetropolitan #14, written by Warren Ellis and drawn by Darick Robertson with inks by Rodney Ramos, who I might have not given enough credit to this month. I will go back and correct my posts later. Hope you all vote blue next week. I really do.

A Moment of Comics Counting Down to November

In the Transmetropolitan future, there are revival hostels for people who were frozen, revived in the future and brought to a catatonic state from the shock of the future world. Sometimes I wonder if this is going to happen to my generation in real time. A page from"Another Cold Morning" in Transmetropolitan #8 by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson. Rodney Ramos inks this issue.

A Moment of Comics Counting Down to November

Let's hope canvassing in battleground states is going better in real life. Another page from Transmetropolitan #21 by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson.

A Moment of Comics Counting Down to November

If we had our way, the "60 Minutes" interview with Trump would have been something like Spider Jerusalem's interview with "The Beast." From Transmetropolitan #21, part three of "The New Scum" by Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson.

A Moment of Comics Counting Down to November

Though writer Warren Ellis has been at least partially cancelled, his early opus, Transmetropolitan with artist Darick Robertson, is still something I look to when I think of elections in America. The ultraconservative president Bob Heller (The Beast) seems now seems like a slighly more eloquent version of Trump. Below is a page from Transmetropolitan #15, part of the "Year of the Bastard" storyline.

A Moment of Comics

I guess the idea of a young president has always been mythical to Americans. The only time I ever read DC's Prez Rickard, first teenage president was the Kurt Cobainified Vertigo comic Prez: Smells Like Teen President. A very early work of authorship by Ed Brubaker and artist Eric Shanower.

A Moment of Comics

The cover to Kyle Baker's I Die At Midnight, a fun little short story that takes place on New Year's Eve. Personally, I hope to be home and in bed by midnight this year.
