And While I'm Committing Bat-Blasphemy

Let me go on record saying that on the basis of the video below, I always thought Prince would have made a better Joker in the 1989 Batman movie.

Or at least a more enthusiastic one. And an actor who wouldn't have just taken the gobs of money just to die in the first movie.

The man who composed an entire album when asked to do only a song or two at least deserved a speaking role. Prince was wronged, and his efforts wrongly maligned to this day (see 1:14 in this clip).

Okay, okay, I'll shut up soon. Just one more thing. I also remember a Grant Morrison interview in The Comics Journal where he told a story about scripting a scene in Arkham Asylum where he put Joker in a dress. The reasoning as to why they had Morrison take the scene out was something along the lines of: "If you put Joker in a dress, people will think Jack Nicholson is a transvestite."

I don't think we would have had that problem with Prince. Do you?

Grant Morrison later made it up to Prince by creating a Purple Rain-inspired Batman-villain: The Flamingo!
