I've done this before, write a poem based on a picture I've taken. I have a hard time doing this because I use a lot of my best pictures nowadays for Oddball Magazine and my own projects. You can read the new one below (and see "Part One" of this piece here if you like, though it's not necessary. Oh, and you can click here if you want some context for the quote. Is it poorer taste to use her quote or to reference a Jewish woman in a poem revolving around the Catholic religion? You tell me.
Hail, Part Two
"I hate hope."

Rosary hangs
in the open
like a burner phone
out of pre-paid minutes
as if to say
Go ahead, try
to get use
out of it.
Mother Mary
never answers
right away, full
of grace and texts.
Replies back
every other week
shares memes
unrelated to prayers.
Every bead
a dead number,
full message box,
promo for sunglasses.
