Kind of dreaded posting this material, but stuff like this is a big reason why I'm archiving this old work here with the hopes that I can follow it up with new writing
This is the first of a series of columns I briefly did for the site. I was trying to find another way to use a graphics-heavy column that I could write quickly in order to help make sure the site always had content.A paltry effort, but I promise I do get funnier. Originally published January 17, 2012. Edited for clarity and to remove dead/irrelevant links.
P.S. After this video from Tony Goldmark, I'm less angry about Robama.
I was thinking of doing this as a series, but this may be self-contained with the following images.
The first is linked from Bleeding Cool.
Like a boy killing ants with one hand swat, genres, sensibilities and at least one political sensibility are smacked down in an ad partially supported by DC.
The next image is supported by a large portion of the remaining comics buying crowd.
I had to post this after viewing the Zenescope site and reading the rationalization by Mark L. Miller on the decision to make the male character in The Jungle Book a woman. I'm sure it had nothing to do with capitalizing on the cheesecake cover craze.
That's it. Series premiere and wrap up, I guess.
