Bringing Things Together

I put together some of my grandfather's records for Memorial Day.

When I took these documents from my Mom, they were all separated, but I'm guessing that these three items were part of the same package. My grandfather created several patents during his time working for the Draper Corporation, once the largest maker of looms for the textile industry located one town over from where I grew up.

The letter comes from his workplace, shortly after it became a part of North American Rockwell (later Rockwell International). My grandfather created various models of shuttles for textile machines. Those might be the "tools" the letter refers to while thanking him for his input in the "Queen City" model loom.

The loom was likely named for the Queen City Cotton Mills in Burlington Vermont, which worked with Draper as far back as the 1890's. It's now the location of the Innovation Center of Vermont, as well as the site of a ghost story).

I think this is the model loom the letter is talking about. Basically, my girlfriend theorizes it's a smaller version the big loom the salesmen were going to pitch. I'd like to see if there's any additional information. I'd love to contact The Museum of Work and Culture in Woonsocket to see if there's more information.
