I Had Issues! My First Comic Book Haiku

I can explain.

It was late 2012. The site I was contributing to was not as productive as I would have liked. I was desperately trying to put more work up even as I was losing interest in the New 52 books that were the center of most readers' attention. I wanted to put up work fast even as my time to do it was getting scarce. My invention was my Comic Book Haiku series. The formula was simple: Post a picture of a comics cover, then add a brief poem/synopsis/take on said comic.

More than one person called me out saying the series was cheap. Given that it was born out of desperation, it's hard to say they were wrong. Still, I got into it and was even proud of one or two haiku I wrote (or at least laughed at my own jokes). It was fun while it lasted. Maybe I'll do it again sometime in the future. For now, I'll be posting the ones I wrote back in the day when I tried to make writing for comics an almost daily thing. The first one below was originally published on August 16, 2012.
