From Picture to Page: Cast Out

Had a meeting yesterday. Took this picture on the way home. Wanted to call this "Step Out" like DiDi Delgado suggested, but it didn't fit. Maybe another poem, for a different place.

Cast Out

Hurled from here,
drum-beaten worse
than democrats.

We acquiesce:
Take our town,
leave our totems.

Something to face
during traffic, we
salvage salvation,

send bits of soul
to nigh-heaven high
neon Nazareth,

slip back home
slithering under
UNWELCOME mat.
