From Picture to Page: New Home for Holidays

I told myself I would put out a holiday poem, so here it is. I took this picture after the storm ended last Thursday. There are better pictures I could take, except now a neighbor's giant inflatable Santa is back up to photobomb all my shots.

New Home for Holidays

Last storm
of century year
paints new canvas
newer.

Spotlights
compete with moon
in search of
conjunction.

Whatever lands
at week's end
will still be
Christmas.

Every year is
end times,
family cards
pleading repent.

We'll huddle close,
stuff stockings
with any foods
we can smuggle

look up from
God's amphitheater,
count down
final night.
