Been doing a lot of haiku lately because I'm preparing myself to write "real" haiku for a competition.
By that I mean haiku involving nature.
It's not something I do with any regularity. In fact, nature poems can often leave me cold.
So writing "real" haiku is akin a muscle I don't use very much. Hence all my recent "exercise" to build up to the challenge.
Let's see how many I can write and actually like. Or maybe they'll all sound like this:
Nature Haiku
Blah something Basho
Blah something cherry blossoms
Blah blah look an ant!
