Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions selected from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.
I also have a book collecting the best of my first year of poems. Click here to purchase it.
So an election happened on Tuesday. Unfortunately. But Richard Spisak also happened on Wednesday. I ended up having to be away from the call due to an emergency. Thankfully, Bil Lewis stepped in as host.
I skipped three weeks worth of Crouton poems. I'm hoping to write those up if I have time. I need to restart the process here, or I'll never catch up.
Thanks for reading.
Cheer Up
Pink hats march
in place
at bottom of
We can only
try to love
ourselves.
It's a start.
It's a start.
Caged bird
sings because
what else is
there to do.
Buy a dog
before your
childhood heroes
hoard them for food.
Every month
will feature
a brand new
October surprise.
Maybe just
maybe they'll
be shot first
for incompetence
before calling us
to clean up
one more another
patriotic mess.
Special thanks to Rita Rose, Doc Janning, Christiana Celli, Jan Rowe, Robert Fleming, Jon Wesick, special host Bil Lewis, James Van Looy and special feature Richard Spisak.
