Brookline is the worst when it comes to their police (I've never seen them, but who else could it be?) trying to eliminate graffiti or posters that say anything they don't like. by spraying black paint all over it. Even over flyers, when it would be less messy to remove them.
As far as I know, Brookline is the only town in the Boston area that does this. However, given the new era we live in, I have a feeling other towns are going to adopt this method.
