Stone Soup Croutons, 1-29-25: Headlines in Waiting

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions selected from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

I also have a book collecting the best of my first year of poems. Click here to purchase it.

Great open mic on Wednesday to end the month.  I hope you watch the video.

Made a resolution this year to take better notes during the open mic. I still watch the video afterwards, but I'm hoping it improves the work going forward.

I have to deal with forks in the road right now. I'll see you later.

Thanks for reading.

Headlines in Waiting

Palestinian children
can't identify mercy
in police lineup.

Grasshoppers watch
bees fighting, loot
bodies for winter.

New ideal self is
as burnt meat looked
over by trash pickers.

St. Elsewhere globe
broken, world's fiction
completely takes over.

 DEI hires at blame
for head-on collision
with truck of Elvis bibles.

Military encouraged
to celebrate new holiday
of No Saints Day.

Is your dog a spy?
Does it stare with intent
of rain hitting ground?

New Anti-Prince law:
No man allowed again
to be like their mother.

Woman assume identity
of flowers, still owned
but mercifully unplugged.

Darwin chosen to preside
over national health care
143 years after death.

Wounded kneecapped.
Leonard Peltier transferred
to nation's death row.

Pipe bursts in family
home, declared unfixable
preexisting condition.

F Train and U Train
collides killing thousands.
President blames black people.
