From the Weekend

James Van Looy from this past Saturday at his weekly rally in the common, along with his Peace Labyrinth drawn in chalk.

Your Weekly Dose of God

"The Glory Bus" is just one of the many kids books offered up at the #letusworship gathering back at the beginning of Pride Month. Don't know if I'd give this to any impressionable child.

Your Weekly Dose of God

I'm used to seeing religious demonstrators for Jesus in the Boston common on weekends, but not a concert outside the State House like I did last Sunday. I'll look into this #letusworship hashtag later, but I find it pretty suspect that they hold this the very first day of Pride Month.

Tourist for an Afternoon

This Sunday, I went over to Boston Common to try and take a better photo of the Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King memorial by Hank Willis Thomas Boston unveiled two years ago.

New American Shaman

Took photos of this person at last Monday's pro-Israel rally on Boston Common. I guess every demonstration has to have their own shaman now. Maybe Vermin Supreme was the de facto shaman for protestors and demonstrators for a long time, a shaman without the title. Now we have the latest incarnation for this new humanitarian crisis.

Will You People Please Move?!?

On Saturday, I got to see the sculpture dedicated to Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King. It's impressive, but I wish I had better lighting. I also wish there weren't people constantly running under it, making any decent shot impossible.

Dud

No good photos or film of fireworks from Boston Common. Couldn't get close enough. Left to filming the last of the salvo from afar (which was still kinda pretty).

City Haiku from Saturday Protest

What has happened since
we have gathered on this hill,
backs collectively turned?

This Week's Friendly Reminder

Held this sign for a bit during this past Saturday's protest across from the State House.

No War With Iran

I almost didn't want to post this because War with Iran (actual war!) already seems like such a non-issue with the impeachment trial going. Then I remembered that's exactly what this administration wants me to think. It's their plan to jump from horror to horror until we're left dazed,  terrified and unfocused while trying to keep up with their all-freak circus show. I'm glad there are other activists out there to help keep our heads straight.

This Week's Friendly Reminder

More art from the common that day. This message has been stated her before, but not quite like this.

This Week's Surprise Reminder

Found this in the Common a couple of weeks ago. All information is useful even if  never applied!

When you give a dragon a flower they smile.

Your Weekly Dose of God

One of the many chalk messages that get scrawled on the ground every weekend around Park Street and the common.

From Picture to Page: Rules for the Paranoid Poet

Took a lot of cloud shots this past week. Just because I could. Seemed right to do a poem with one of those pictures.

Rules for the Paranoid Poet

No one smart
ever writes
about clouds.

City Haiku

Sun sets on common,
and the church bell will toll on
for those who remain.
