It Was a Good Day

 

 

Megha Sood has been sharing this screenshot of me (as well as others) from the Saturday release party of Reimagine America at the Culver City Book Festival. Thanks to publisher Mark Lipman for including me in the reading. I met a bunch of people there, and more than a few of them will hopefully be making their way to Stone Soup Poetry soon.

Arrived Yesterday

I thought the mail carriers had the day off, but yesterday my contributor copy of Reimagine America literally arrived at my doorstep. It also came with a wonderful letter from Mark Lipman.

 

 

It's a thrill to be included not only such friends and colleagues as Mark Rotherberg, Megha Sood, David Dephy and the late Blaine Hebbel but also with such names as Poet Laureate Joy Harjo and so many others I am meeting in print for the first time. My gratitude to Mark Lipman for the honor and my thanks to anyone who has already bought the book. Those who haven't can purchase the book in the link above.

Megha Sood was our first feature of 2022. I'm glad I was finally able to showcase her voice. Buy her books if you can. It was also good to have Mark Lipman of Vagabond Books read from Reimagine America, reading a poem in the book from the late Blaine Hebbel.Political work like Sood's and Hebbel's fed into this week's poem. Of course being home sick added a lot. Sorry for how I sounded on the call.

 

I would dwell on the process of them poem more (especially as it almost feels unfinished, like there's an open micer I forgot to count), but I have my health and the health of others to think of. It's hard for even the sick to get rest. Hope you're all doing better. Thanks for reading.
