The One Really Great Thing About National Poetry Month
On April 1st, Amethyst Arsenic will be accepting submissions.
This will be one of the first things I do this Friday. If you're a poet, you should submit as well. I know the submission page doesn't have the information, but the home page confirms it.

April 4: Miles Hodges, One Night Only, at Stone Soup
This is the biggest kickoff to National Poetry Month Stone Soup has ever attempted in my ten years of organizing it. We couldn't have gotten it done without Dexter Garcia, DiDi Delgado, Navah The Buddaphliii and the Society of Urban Poetry. I promise you that we will have much more exciting news as we count down to National Poetry Month and then to Stone Soup's forty-fifth anniversary. You'll probably see it first on the Stone Soup website and Facebook page. It's not the Stone Soup I started with, but I wouldn't have it any other way, no matter how much more things change over the next ten years, or even the next ten weeks. So much has happened, and if you've been away for a while, you can reserve your ticket for this special show and be in the audience on April 4.

March 28: Gloria Monaghan Continues the Countdown at Stone Soup
A lot is happening at Stone Soup. Almost more than one can keep track of. We have Gloria Monaghan to close out March this coming Monday with a reading from her new collection from Flutter Press. As a teacher who has brought her students to Stone Soup several times over the years, Gloria is sure to bring a good mix of seasoned poets, amateur writers and people attending a poetry reading for the first time ever. A perfect prelude to National Poetry Month (and Stone Soup's anniversary month in May), as well as a reminder that poets should never shy away from new listeners. Let's all enjoy ourselves this Monday and kick off National Poetry Month early.

February 22: Let's Bring Noemi Paz Up to Stone Soup's Podium
Despite the crazy weather over the last few weeks, attendance at Stone
Soup Poetry overall has been strong. I am happy that I was able to give Ashley Wonder
her first Boston feature this past Monday. On February 22, I will be
giving Noemi Paz, the self-proclaimed Empress of Opulent Kindness, her first Stone Soup feature.
I'm excited as we draw February to a close and move closer to the next
Stone Soup Poetry Slam in March as well as National Poetry Month in
April. Not to mention Stone Soup's 45th anniversary month in Many. We
have a lot to look forward to.
