December 30: Se Me Read at The Snow That Never Drifts

I'll be featuring with Barbara Siegel Carlson and Timothy Gager on Saturday, December 30. It's from 6-8 PM ET at the Open Doors Yoga Studio on 65 Washington Street in Weymouth, Massachusetts. 

It's not handicapped accessible (sorry) and attendees must be fully vaccinated. 

It's my last feature of the year, so I'm going to try and make it fun and special.

Gloria Monaghan read live at the Assemblage Gallery on Wednesday. I appreciated that she found a way to get so many people out after the elections on Tuesday. If I wasn't hosting, I might not have gone anywhere. I appreciate the youthful energy. 

 

My poem is all tired old man energy. I regret that, but I think it's going to happen more as I get closer and closer to my next birthday.You've been warned.

 

Still getting used to writing poems based on live shows that aren't recorded. Don't write as fast as I used to. I'm a victim of my own learning curve. Thanks for reading.

November 9: Gloria Monaghan Shows the Students How It's Done

 

Stone Soup comes back live on November 9 at the Assemblage Gallery with special feature and long time supporter Gloria Monaghan. It's our second-to-last live show before the year's end, with several online gatherings in between. Come January, there will be more positive changes to Stone Soup's schedule. Can't wait for that to happen. Until then, let's get together when we can, especially in the wake of Tuesday's elections, no matter what the outcome.

This Wednesday, Stone Soup had it's first live show in over two years, and Jim Dunn was the feature. Gloria Monaghan came with her poetry students to help fill the seats. It was a beautiful live show that had an online Zoom component that didn't work as well. Hopefully, better measures will be taken next month when The Garage Poets stop by to feature. 

As a result of so much juggling, I didn't jot as much as I wanted to from the open mic, and there was no video of the performance. Therefore, this week's Crouton is going to be very short and fragmented. Doesn't do the open mic or feature justice. I hope you're in the audience this July.

So I'm new to this live performance thing all over again. I'll get the kinks out next time. Thanks for reading.
