A Moment of Comics

Robert Crumb has a new comic out. His first in decades. I haven 't read yet. Until I can, I figured I would revisit his old comic series Hup. People on social media have been sharing panels of his classic comic about Donald Trump from this series. Unsurprisingly, they leave out this page with the "original" ending, which was replaced by mock editorial intervention with something more cathartic. Still, as Crumb said, this page was more realistic. From the Hup #3 story "Point the Finger" by Crumb.

A Moment of Comics

Still waiting for the "alphas" to finish each other off so the wimps cam start picking up the pieces. The full last page from Robert Crumb's "The Ruff-Tuff Cream-Puffs Take Charge," first published in Hup #1. A few years ago, I only printed the final panel. I'm correcting that mistake today.

A Moment of Comics

A Robert Crumb panel from Zap Comix #1. Mr. Natural sums up my mood for the week.

Mr. Natural to Faley Foont: "The whole universe is completely insane!" Flakey Foont: "It is?"

Motivation

Posting this R. Crump inspired send-up of Dunkin' in the hopes that there will be more comics related work from me up later today or tonight.

A Moment of Comics

This, to me, is sheer poetry. A Robert Crumb cover to the third issue of Arcade, a comics anthology edited by Bill Griffith and Art Spiegelman. Hope you're enjoying National Poetry Month so far.

A Moment of Comics

With the anniversary of January 6, here's a page from a  2929 Trump comic printed in the New York Review of Books. Masterfully drawn by Aline Kominsky-Crumb and Robert Crumb.

A Moment of Comics

All the victories. All the power. Still as miserable as ever. Some panels from Robert Crumb's "Whiteman" in Zap Comix #1. Taken from one of the many Robert Crumb appreciation sights on Facebook.

A Moment of Comics

We'll be lucky if the January 6th Committee wraps things up this well. The last panel of Robert Crumb's "The Ruff-Tuff Cream-Puffs Take Charge" where an army of insecure alphas take over the country only to destroy each other over petty bickering. And in the end, the wimps have to clean all that mess up.

Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was.
