I Had Issues! My Old Review of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox

Now that I'm almost done posting these reviews, I feel less proud of these "By-The-Numbers" reviews. They served their purpose, but they're like CinemaSins without ever hearing a "ding." Still, it was fun to write them at the time. That's how I was able to get this out before my time was done at the site. I just don't see myself ever doing another one. I'll still tackle the Identity Crisis mini-series someday, just not as a By-The-Numbers. Hope you liked them for what they were. Originally published October 3, 2013. Edited for clarity. Additional note: Number 4. had twice the number of links, but I choose not to link some of that work this time around.

I Had Issues! My Tenth Comic Book Haiku

Another haiku covering up for the lack of an in-depth review. Though I prefer his All-Star Superman, I enjoyed much of Grant Morrison's run on the New 52 version of Action Comics. And hey, if you're fretting about how to make Superman relevant, just go with his Super Obama from this run. Hell, you already have Michael B. Jordan interested!

Other note: I thank the person who commented on the original site who pointed out in the original post "[T]he first post-crisis appearance of Mr. Mxyzptlk, it was revealed to be pronounced Mix-yez-pittle-ick," thereby making my haiku one syllable too long. I corrected it. To be fair, I was going by the Superman TAS version, which was pronounced "Mix-Yez-Spit-Lick." A lot of thinking goes into seventeen syllables, no matter how goofy the outcome! Yes!

My Alan Moore story was recommended by Medium!

New Article Up

I've maintained my love of comics throughout my adult life thanks to magazines like The Comics Journal, which taught me to apply critical thinking towards what I read. I've had the idea for this article for a while. I'm glad to be sharing it now. Read "Removing Alan Moore’s Message: An Anatomy Lesson," available now on Medium.

Lifted by its creator from Newgrounds (mostly so you don't have to subject your computer to Newgrounds' cookies). Created the dark days of the early aughties. Mr. T. Transformers. The Fonz. Perhaps the greatest saga ever created. Unfortunately, the final video was blocked. You'll have to watch it here.

Superman as Super Snowflake

If you're tired of my attempts at introductory titles to posts that simply link to Oddball Magazine (I know I am), then consider subscribing to the WordPress based site. Until then, follow the link to this week's "The Odds" by Bill Harvey. Only at (here's the link, of course) Oddball Magazine.

We Hazard on Superman.

Wes Hazard's thoughts on Superman. This is a collage that was left out at the Out of The Blue Art Gallery. It reflects a lot of my thoughts both on the character as well as being overworked and overwhelmed in general.
