As with many people, I heard Lou Reed's "Tarbelly And Featherfoot" first before hearing Victoria Williams' origianl version. There's a reason why you type in the song's title into YouTube and Lou Reed's version comes up first. It's a Nine Inch Nails/Johnny Cash thing before Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash happened.
Another from the Victoria Williams tribute Album Sweet Relief. Soul Asylum did a good job emulating her style. But my favorite from this piece is coming.
Another tribute album this week. This time, it's Sweet Relief, the benefit/tribute album to singer/songwriter Victoria Williams. Most know the "Crazy Mary" cover by Pearl Jam, but here's another Williams cover by Michael Penn I enjoy.
