Alan Moore's writing featured many LGBTQ+ characters. Silly as it sounds, if there's anything that got me thinking about pronouns and treating people well regardless of how they identify, it was the introduction of "Hir" the alien entity in the Miracleman: Olympus (which I was lucky to grab a copy of from Million Year Picnic back in the mid or late nineties). The line about Miracleman "refusing to malign a creature as sublime as this with any base and casual slur like 'it'" really stuck with me.
This recolored double page spread (which I don't hate completely) is from Miracleman #13 from the Marvel comics reprinting of the story.
