Huddled in our booths
hoping that filled-in ovals
will bring armistice.

Wearing Black on Electin Day

 

Don't know how much I'm actually going to get done while waiting to vote tonight. People are optimistic, but I am not getting on any premature victory bandwagons today. 

 

I don't think I can write poetry today. I may be wrong, but the prognosis is not good. 

 

I'm afraid to make jokes.

 

Apparently I believe in a God that will strike me down for exhibiting a hundredth of the hubris the Trump camp is. 

Please vote and vote blue. It is the only feasible way out of our situation.

This is a campaign sign near my Mom's home. So sad that this is what Team Red has reduced themselves to in an effort to hide their awful traits and mask their complicity. Please vote for Team Blue this Tuesday. As someone who thought both teams were the same, the alternative to that is too terrible to fathom.

My plan is to vote after work. Hopefully, the rest of you voted early or have that luxury.

I Would Know More

With elections coming up next week, I still haven't figured out who to vote for. We've had a lot of canvassers, but in the case of one canvasser, he was the actual candidate.

I was coming home just as he was leaving early, but I knew it was the man on the pamphlets, Brian Worrell. Here was his note.

 

I can't wait to read more about him and poll Facebook to see what's going on.

It could have gone either way.

Whether or not the Electoral College is ever changed, picture future elections being nail biters in  the future.

I was so happy when a work colleague said I helped convince them to vote. 

Especially since I see Massachusetts as being in danger of turning into a red state. Especially when more and more people are being priced out of living here.

Thoughts

For many years, I have worked with and for people who didn't seem to care whether I lived or died.

Over the last four years, I now know for certain that they don't. 

And I now know there are even some among those people who don't care if they ever become complicit in my death.

Whatever happens today, I will still have to live with these people. I just don't want them to have any more of a say in how I live or die than they already do.
