My Monday Morning Music

I was a top forty music geek as a kid before I ever became a classic rock fan. I remember following each hit from a band's album until they released that one song that never really tracked and ended the band's time on the charts abruptly. That's what this week is about, an album's one killjoy track.

"Ghost Town" was on Cheap Trick's album Lap of Luxury and released in the states after "The Flame" and their cover of "Don't Be Cruel." It went away pretty quickly, and I can see why now. Too close to "The Flame" to stand on it's own as a rock ballad, even if they saved it for another album.
