Stone Soup Croutons, 7-22-26: Wisdom from a Troll Taking Tolls

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions selected from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

I also have a book collecting the best of my first year of poems. Click here to purchase it.

Features like his are why I continue to host Stone Soup online.

You can watch the video here, and I encourage you to do so.

I had to do a Stone Soup Croutons poem for this night. I hope I can continue the pace.

In the title is a nod ot Marc's longtime email address.

Thanks for reading.

From this week's online gathering. A wonderful night of poetry by a poetry and activist legend. Do not scroll past this.

See You Soon, Marc

Last night we featured Marc Goldfinger, one of the hardest working and most active poets in Boston. If you missed it, look for the video later. Thanks to Marc for a wonderful evening to remember. Stay tuned for more Stone Soup news.

July 22: Marc Goldfinger Rides into Stone Soup

Poet, author, columnist and editor Marc Goldfinger has been a multiple time feature during my tenure at Stone Soup Poetry, and he has always been generous enough to share the spotlight with colleagues from fellow Boston poets to fellow members of the Highway Poets. This time, on July 22, we're giving Marc the full feature spotlight online. Join us for the local legend's performance.

Join us on Wednesday, July 22, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM ET by clicking this link.

My One Mother Poem

"Hail," from back in the days of Spoonful. Inspiration came from a poem about the rosary by Marc Goldfinger.

July 27: Return of the Highway Poet and Friends

It's July, and that means another motorcycle poet feature is upon us. That means it's the return of self-proclaimed Highway Poet K. Peddlar Bridges. The Peddlar has been a fixture in our summer schedule for a long time. His gatherings have come under different names in the past. For the past couple of years Peddlar and friends have assembled under the Roadpoet Fortnight which takes place these next two weeks as Peddlar and company perform all across New England. I don't know yet who else Peddlar will be bringing with him next Monday. Peddlar has always assemble a diverse bunch of readers, including new voices like Lisa Golda-Shields and established talents such as Gypsypashn, Marc D. Goldfinger and the late Joe Gouveia. I will add any additional names Peddlar announces, but no matter what he tells me between now and the day of the feature, I can tell you now that Peddlar heads up one of the most unpredictable shows in Stone Soup's history. This should not be missed.

Go JoeGO Go! Poems for José Gouviea at Oddball Magazine

Oddball Magazine is proud to present a series a poems to be published over the next week dedicated to José Gouveia, poet, editor and WOMR radio host, who is undergoing another treatment for cancer next week. We hope you will not only appreciate the love and support from an array of contributing poets but also consider donating to the Joe Gouveia Recovery Fund, an online effort to help offset the cost of this costly and vital surgery. The fund is already halfway toward it's goal, and with your help we could exceed expectations. The first poem, "You Get What Everyone Gets" by Marc D. Goldfinger, is up now.
