Stone's Throw #6 is Out

The last issue of Stone's Throw is out today. It's only been a month since the last one, but I wanted to have a sixth issue to close out the year. I thank everyone who contributed work throughout this past year. It's been fantastic publishing all of you.

“I Keep on Going, Guess I’ll Never Know Why” is the title/theme for Stone's Throw #6. You can download it here.

Big kudos to Adric Giles for going through with my idea for the cover. It's definitely a great follow-up to the #TrumpDump cover to Stone's Throw #4.

I have a poem to kick things off. Then you can get to the work by Elizabeth Hanson, Deta Galloway, Zachary Bos, Abagail Petersen, Liza Zayas, Melissa Silva, Laurel Lambert, Rene Schwiesow and Ron Goba.

If this is your first time hearing about Stone's Throw, I recommend clicking this page to download the rest.

Scenes from Motherhood and The Muse

The Massachusetts Poetry Festival is done for another year. All that's left are the memories. I wasn't able to record the event, but thankfully Toni Bee, one of the panelists for last Sunday's "Motherhood and The Muse," wrote a paper on the event for one of her college classes.

I am humbled by her recap and asked if I could post it on my website. I also included photos and videos of Toni, DiDi Delgado and Rene Schwiesow reading at the panel. You can enjoy the highlights by clicking here.

Thank You, Ladies

Thanks so much to Toni Bee, Rene Schwiesow and DiDi Delgado for doing such a great job at yesterday's panel at this weekends Massachusetts Poetry Festival, "Motherhood and The Muse."

I couldn't get much audio or video of the panel, but I did get photos and video of people reading. The videos I'll see if I can post later. Here are some photos now.

No photo of DiDi reading, but at least there's one of her enjoying a post-reading victory drink.

2016 Highlight; My Poem in Ibbestson Street 40

My contributor's copy of Ibbetson Street 40 has arrived. One of my favorite poems I've written over the last five years was included in this issue. Thank you so much to Rene Schwiesow and the rest of the Ibbeston clan.

2016 was the year I resolved to appear in more print works than I have in recent years. Referring to my recent reaction to seeing The Sickness in print, I realize how much I missed print. I will always have one foot int he online world, but I still like having my work in not-so-easy-to-access books.

Maybe it's part of my old world programing, but I still find it thrilling to actually have my words in my hands, in the form of an object that was created by people who cared enough about my words to include it in the pages of what is becoming an increasingly expensive object. It's an honor each time.

In a perfect future, I would become a good enough writer to produce entire books of words not free to access and ignore by Facebook friends or twits on Twitter.

In a perfect future, the online world of lies takes a backseat to carefully written and printed worldviews.

But this copy of Ibbetson Street will do for now, thank you very much.

Ibbetson Street #40 Has Hit the Stands

Ibbetson Street #40 is packed with poets. Many of which I either know or have appeared alongside before. People like Timothy Gager, Teisha Dawn Twomey, and Marge Piercy. Then there's the photo by Jennifer Mathews. I'm excited to have one of my earliest pantoums (also one of my favorites) appear here. Thanks to editors Doug Holder, Harris Gardner and Rene Schwiesow for accepting my work. You can order a copy of this issue over at Lulu.
