Some of my favorite events in the early years at the Out of The Blue Art Gallery involve Susan and the people she introduced me to, including the future publisher of my first book. I am proud to have Susan Deer Cloud closing out Stone Soup's fifty-fifth anniversary month. This is one more reunion you can't miss.

A Decade of Patron Emeritus

Last Sunday marked the first day my first ever full-length collection was made available from FootHills Publishing online. It is a book that would never have been created if not for a series of wonderful events that took almost a decade to bring me to the moment I never thought I would see as a poet.

Thirty Days of Stone Soup Stuff

 

 I think Susan Deer Cloud (a cat person through and through) took this picture of me with one of Tom Tipton and Deb Priestly's many gallery kitties.

There are things I don't miss about the Out of The Blue Art Gallery, but one thing I do miss (especially in the old Prospect Street location) is the high chance for a cat to walk up and let you place them on the podium.

Despite an impressive open mic, my recordings were plagued with technical difficulties, with my camera getting all wonky with sound. This clip was the least affected of them. Maybe I can fix the audio and post the other clips later.

Stone's Throw 3 Released!

After way too long a wait, the third issue of Stone's Throw is out under the theme "Change as Scorched Earth" Dedicated to the late James Conant, my friend and artistic collaborator of over a decade whose work is featured on both the front and back cover. Featuring poets Mignon Ariel King, Ryk McIntyre, Susan Deer Cloud, Tony Brown and Ron Goba.
