RIP Tom Tipton

I just found out this morning that Out of The Blue Gallery co-founder Tom Tipton passed away. I heard he had a heart attack and was in the hospital but never got the chance to notify others.

Thirty Days of Stone Soup Stuff

I think Susan Deer Cloud (a cat person through and through) took this picture of me with one of Tom Tipton and Deb Priestly's many gallery kitties.

There are things I don't miss about the Out of The Blue Art Gallery, but one thing I do miss (especially in the old Prospect Street location) is the high chance for a cat to walk up and let you place them on the podium.

Another View of the Former Out of The Blue

I've written about the old location of the  Out of The Blue Art Gallery on Prospect Street and what it's become. Yesterday, after I finished what I had to do in Central Square, I went by the old spot and noticed the gate to back yard, usually closed, was open wide. I took a look.

I remember the backyard barbecues and workshops, some of the best parts of all my times there. It's where I met my girlfriend Lynne Sticklor and inevitably got involved with Stone Soup. It must have been Tom Tipton who put in a pond. To the best of my memory, it actually had fish in it at one point.

The pond is gone, as well as any evidence that people once enjoyed that small space. It's now just a patch of land meant only to look nice and impress visitors who likely don't care. Purposeless, much like the building in general today.

People I Want to See Tonight at Stone Soup

Tom Tipton

Like I usually do, only awake this time.

Carol Westion

She rarely comes two weeks in a row, but Carol was having so much fun selling her broadside last Monday that I'd love for her to keep the thrill going. I know she'll have even more eager customers this week.

On second thought, I can wait one more week.

 Tom Tipton

Tom's a busy man in and out of the Out of The Blue, but he has a lot to do with Stone Soup Poetry's continued existance. wasn't in the background much during last week's reading. He likes when a slam is going on. Maybe he'll stick around tonight.

The Out of The Blue Art Gallery Has Achieved Nonprofit Status

The proof was shown on social media earlier today.

Congratulations Tom Tipton, TJ Edson, Hope Zimmerman and everyone else who put effort into this since the Out of The Blue moved to its current location.
