Thanks, David!

David P. Miller just left this review for my book All's Well Isn't You, out from  LJMcD Communications.

"Chad Parenteau is a past master of what goes unsaid. Watch out - if you read these brief poems quickly, you may not have read them at all. They're worth taking more time with than you expect."

You can order a copy today off of Amazon today.

Stone Soup Croutons, 1-11-23: This is Life, You Admit

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions selected from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

David Miller read in person for Stone Soup on Wednesday. Despite lighting issues, we even have video of it. A small gathering that yielded great poems from his set. Because of David succinct selection and the small open mic, this week's entry might be a record for shortest crouton poem. That's okay. I'll write more later. Thanks for reading.

David P. Miller at Stone Soup Poetry, 1-11-23

From our live gathering at Fort Point Arts Community's Assemblage Gallery. Best to quote Miller here: "The crowd was - well, select (and self-selected) - but it was a good get-together. We just put our chairs in a circle. And gratifyingly, the ratio of attendees to book sales was all one could ask for - not exactly 1:1, but darn close. My thanks for that. (This does not happen on Zoom.)"

A Different Night

It was a great gathering for David Miller. I think we all walked away with a copy of his latest collection, Bend in the Stair. Thanks to Miller and everyone who was able to come out on a cold winter night.

Stone Soup Croutons, 1-4-23: This is New, I Suppose

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions picked from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

Then I went to the dentist. Now I'm recovering. From the fact that I referenced Santa Claus yet again!

At least I got to the new year with this poem. Barely. At least I'm getting warmed up for next week's in-person feature David P. Miller. Thanks for reading.

SAFE DISTANCE EDITION - Stone Soup Croutons, 7-7-21: Lonely Bowl Grieves Cheating Dish

Stone Soup Croutons is a weekly poem I write using lines and impressions picked from Stone Soup Poetry's open mic readers and features. I figure out a title (and sometimes the rest of the poem) later. You can read the other ones I've done since 2015 here.

I also have an award nominated book out now collecting the best of my first year of poems. Click here to purchase it.

World's in climate change hell, but at least we had a nice open mic on Wednesday. I freely admit to stealing the idea in David Miller's first poem and forcing it into the rest of this poem. Luckily, the rest of the open mic helped enable me. It's nonsense once again, but it's fun nonsense.

Looking forward to Andrew K. Peterson's feature next week. Until then, here's the poem. thanks for reading.

finally shooed away?
